WHAT IS A SWIM SPA?
A swim spa
is an at-home spa system or exercise pool that can be installed above or below ground. Ranging in length from 12 to 18 feet, swim spas are often described as a hybrid between a hot tub and swimming pool, since they have two separate areas similar to both systems that are separated by a wall. The larger side of the spa, similar to a pool, is perfect for recreation and exercise. The other side, like a hot tub, has seats and jets for rest and relaxation. Also known as “all weather pools” or “all season pools”, swim spas can be used throughout the year.
HOW BIG IS A SWIM SPA?
Swim spas can range from 12 to 18 feet in length. Most swim spas can seat 2-5 people, with room for more in the recreation area.
CAN YOU EXERCISE IN A SWIM SPA?
All season pools are built for exercise and recreation. Most all season pools will offer a long and deep area perfect for swimming and working out. In fact, they will often have a built-in jet system at the far end that creates a strong enough current of water for one to swim, walk or jog against. The added resistance is perfect for those looking for a low to moderate workout. Without the need to stop, turn around and push off of a wall, swimmers love this modern approach to swimming laps.
Before starting any exercise regimen, we recommend speaking with a physician first to ensure your best health.
